GfG-Doula® – Training
Established in 2005, GfG-Doula training requires that students must be mothers themselves and at least 30 years of age.
The course runs over 18 months and encompasses 180 hours of teaching across 9 modules and an additional requirement of at least 150 hours of self-study. Certification is achieved only after successful evaluation of the trainee in achieving the following: 100% class attendance, 5 birth experiences (either in hospitals/birthing centres or home births) with a written report on one birth, attendance at a childbirth class and also a breastfeeding group, a written essay and completion of a medical questionnaire. Further GfG-Doula® training is also offered to graduates seeking to expand their skills.
