The 13 Doule project was born from a group of women and mothers united together, by joining various professional experts, capacities and knowledge, were formed by the “mondo doula” in Bassano del Grappa, close to Venice.
Our philosophies and style of mothering bonded us from the beginning and from our friendship grew the desire to help other mothers by using our combined, diverse abilities.
As doulas we strive to find the correct balance and partnership with the mothers that contact us. We know that only by truly understanding the story of that particular mother, together with that of her family, will we be able to give her the individual support she needs without interfering with her unique capacity of being a mother.
We believe that each woman already has the innate understanding of what she wants to be and with the doula at her side, she has someone who can encourage her to listen and trust that inner voice.
Each mother knows how to take care of her new baby; the doula offers caring support, assistance, reassurance and solidarity.
As doulas, we are devoted to protecting the mother-child dyad; by providing nurturing, individual, hands-on care as well as by passing on the most up-to-date information on baby care and breastfeeding. Breastfeeding, in fact, is an integral part of each one of us.
As 13 Doule, we are devoted to upholding and promoting the International Code of Marketing of breast milk substitutes.
